Letter From Western States Board

Hello WSVRHA Members,

We are off to a great start in 2024!! WSVRHA affiliates have hosted six shows already this year. Year to date points will be posted on the WSVRHA website very soon.

Are you finding it difficult to travel and afford five affiliate shows in order to qualify for our amazing finals in October? We hear you!! The WSVRHA Board has decided to help everyone by reducing the qualifying number of affiliate shows to THREE (3). This means that you must attend at least three affiliate shows, in any affiliate, prior to attending the finals, where we will have a clean slate championship show. Also, in order to qualify for year-end awards, you must attend three affiliate shows, but you do not have to attend the finals. Points earned at the finals, however, will count toward the year end. All of this should get you excited for a trip to Winnemucca. Now, let’s go show!!

Fun In The Mountains

Inter-Mountain Ranch Versatility Show

Last year the Inter-Mountain VRH show was a very good time for everyone. THIS year it’s bound to be even better. Nestled in a wonderful valley that time seems to have forgotten, everything there seems sweet. The air, the mountains, the nice people, the restaurants, and the accommodations. Join us for the horse show and maybe bring your family to enjoy the lakes and fishing, and spectacular views of Mt Shasta and Mt Lassen.

Do you have a youth rider? The first ten youth entered in the all- around get $100 off the $395 youth entry fee!

McArthur is located 1 ½ hours East of Redding. It’s an easy drive and beautiful all the way. Will we see you there? Hope so.

Cinch Up Productions Results

Lots of “Green”

The Cinch Up Productions show is best illustrated by the last action of Tony Agredano’s before closing the awards ceremony. He asked if there was anyone who hadn’t gotten a prize over the weekend and invited them to come to the awards table and choose whatever they wanted. There was a group of “littles” who had competed in Walk/Trot, and he loaded them up to the point someone said, “it’s Tony Agredano Christmas!” A generous, caring, and wonderful thing to do for our kids! Thank you Tony.

Western States/Golden State is Expanding!

Welcome New Secretary

Jessica Lawrence has stepped up to do the training necessary to become a Golden State show secretary. Her service will allow us to expand into other areas that would like to hold Golden State shows.

Jessica is no “newbie” to horse shows and being a show secretary. She and husband Vernon, manage the popular Ranch Spectacular Shows in Northern California.

When you see her, be sure to give her a hearty Golden State welcome.
