SB 287 will be considered by the Assembly Transportation Committee July 5. (Before it was approved by the Senate Transportation Committee). If approved by the Senate TC it will move to the general legislature and should pass as there is no real opposition to it. However, everything is political and we need to provide the same level of support for this committee hearing as we did for the first one.
Here’s the link to the California Legislature Portal https://calegislation.lc.ca.gov/Advocates/. First register, it doesn’t take long. Then when you get to the portal, in “Measure” put SB 287, click “Search”, click on “Transportation Committee”, check “Support” and make comments if you like. Then hit submit. Easy peasy.
One can call all Transportation Committee in exactly 15”. Tell them your name, town, and ask that the assemblyman/woman please support SB287 at the Transportation Committee meeting July 5. Staffers don’t want to spend time talking to you so it’s as easy as that. Here’s a list of the committee members. If you can just call one call the committee chair.
